Dimitar, I found your thread over at the JP.com forum.  It seems like you've gotten a pretty good reception there.  Too bad the MP.com forum didn't embrace you in the same manner.  What a shame.  I'm currently developing some ideas for exposure for Solo Album Forum artists.  I won't say anything yet, because I'm still ironing out the details...

I hate to say this, but the MP.com forum comes across to me as a little snobby, because if you are not a regular poster and part of the "group," you don't get a lot of response, especially with music. When you start a thread about something, you rarely get a lot of comments. I started going there before Scenes From a Memory was released, so I've been around it for ten years or so: I just don't post that often.

I'm just glad Stephan recommended this site to me. It is nice to be able to listen, share, and discuss our music. Kudos to you Brian for starting this forum!

Yes, this forums is great! Thanks to Brian for this.
Self promotion is hard process. People these days are fully satisfied with information and it is hard to get the attention from the audience.
I'm still searching for the best way to show my art and music...Even I'm out of fresh ideas how to promote and to not be insolent and annoying...if you know what I mean Smiley

One of the main reasons I started this forum.  Because THAT happens.

While I disagree with Andrew Dubber's music for free philosophy, he is trying to spawn new promotion ideas for musicians.  You can read his blog here... http://newmusicstrategies.com/.  Let me know if you find that to be of help.

Dimitar, I think I might write about you guys in my band's next newsletter.  From time to time I like to feature other progressive artists, especially as gifted as you.  Would that be alright with you?

The guitarist in me (not particularly talented) really appreciates all the fingers on the fretboard shots on the video.

Nice vid Bro!

D, you have crazy good technique.  LOL.  Great video...I enjoy the "Mother Earth" feel to it.  Hey man, for my writeup, would you mind submitting a few words yourself?  I'd like to hear a little about how you describe your music, and perhaps you could share your thoughts on this forum as well.  If you wouldn't mind doing that, could you email your comments to BRIANDOBBS.COM@domainsbyproxy.com ?

Hey Dimitar,

With my comprehensive exams done, and our album submitted for production, I finally have some time to listen to some more of your stuff.

Abandoned Place:
Definitely like the drums and the delayed guitar. It makes an awesome effect during your solo. I like how it built up and then everything dropped out except the guitar and drums at around 1:55. The synth sounds add a nice atmosphere. Awesome soloing at around 2:55, and again the delay effect makes it all that much cooler. Maybe my only slight (and I mean small) dislike is the business of the drums throughout most of the song. It works, and I can see why you did that, because it fit the delay effect. I'll have to listen to it a few more times to form a solid opinion I guess. The guitar sounds so majestic though! Very nice work! When I get the extra money, I'm buying your album bro!

Just listened to "Terrestrial Paradise", and it's very well written&played. It's a sin that the video is a bit off sync, but can be fixed ^^

Hi Dimitar,

Just took the time to listen to Abandoned Place... WOW! Your guitar playing gives me chills! Awesome, your melodies are real ear candies, your playing is emotional with lots of feeling. I really like the way the piece starts, smoothly then more and more opened and little heavier. Great dynamics all along the way. Really like the bluesy mood.

Your guitar sound is really good, as another said, it is so great to EAR the great guitar sound instead of always earing distortion and a big wall of sound (but I also like those big wall of sound also :-)).

Great job also for the drum programming. As a drummer, I like when there is real drum, but I must say that in your case, it sound so good and the beats feels so good that it's like having a real drummer!

It's great to see such passionate musicians like you doing such great music! Thanks a lot for sharing this!
