Sorry if I've been absent for a while, but I was recording two new tunes with Sequoia Bisquits, the first being a breton traditional tune (a gavotte, in particular) we named "Gavotte des Ultrąs", the second being the main theme from an old SNES game, "The Lord of the Rings". You can find both the tunes on

There are some photos from the recording session, I'm waiting to get them from the others...

This is some great stuff.  I'd love to see any photos or videos you guys may have.  This is great.  I'm adding your name to the title of this thread.  Normally I would merge this with the existing thread, but since you mention that these are new recordings, this new thread can stay.  :-)  I'll be listening to these for a while.  I can't wait to see your website finished.

wow man, that's awesome stuff.  So you do all your own recording at your place?  What software do you use?

That's Cubase SX3  for recording, with a Tascam US144 Audio Card, and Propellerhead Reason for songwriting and the monitor track. I feel very comfortable with those software since I've been using them for quite a time. We write the whole tune with Reason before start recording, so everyone can read and learn in detail his part, and also the first instrument to be recorded has a guideline to follow.

KevinMM writes all of our stuff in Reason too.  It's what I use to track my drum parts.  It's such a smart way of recording.

Man, really cool to see the use of orchestral instruments.  I teach orchestra myself and am constantly trying to encourage my students to perform/create music from outside of the orch. lit.  Very cool!

Hi all! It's a pleasure to be here again... First of all I want to apologize for my long absence since April 09, caused by a very heavy amount of work on my shoulders. In addition to the college I've been busy recording&mixing Sequoia Bisquits first official album: "Legno Liquido", it took more than 3 weeks just to record it and a month ad a half to mix it, then two weeks ago we took it to the mastering process and now we have the complete product, with graphics and so on...

I've then been recording&mixing the first album of Vinegar Sock (check at www.myspace.com/vinegarsocks) since April 20 up until now and there's still some work to do before getting into the mastering process. I'll post something after getting the permission from the band itself Smiley

So, enough chitchat I'm going to post something from "Legno Liquido", starting from the Tracklist.
Tracklist:
01 - The fabulous life of Tommy McCloud
02 - Lego® Generation
03 - Hobbiton
04 - Platform (story)
05 - Habitat
06 - Tic Tac, tour de funk!
07 - 07:00 p.m.
08 - Memories of Green

All track are composed by our mandolin player (Patrizio Petrucci) and then arranged by the whole band, with the exceptions of track 3 (Hobbiton) by Charles Deenan which is taken from the old videogame "The Lord of the Rings" for SNES (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MjJFAjIH3I), and track 8 by Yasunori Mitsuda taken from the classic RPG game "Chrono Trigger", also for SNES (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDpPMu8EApg).

Then the teasers (both video&audio).

Audio Teaser: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/714247/Legno%20Liquido%20Audio%20Teaser.mp3
The audio teaser is formed by excerpts from (just 20-30 secs) all the tracks in the CD.

Video Teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVjRIfojMNs
The video teaser is a collection of shots of the recording sessions. Here you can see the completely relaxed and playful atmosphere of the sessions. Soundtrack is "A morning in Norkia" from the anime Last Exile.

Finally a series of photos from the recording sessions.

And now I can go scrolling the rest of the forum reading what I've missed during the last 4 months Cheesy

D3im0s, love the video teaser.  You're stuff is simply magical.  I've just added this CD to my "Must Buy" list along with Capharnaum's releases.

Well I'm glad to hear it and since I wish to listen to the Concrete Prophet disc maybe we can arrange a simple album exchange Smiley

There will be few updates since the work for the album is almost done, now we are focusing in distribution!

Haha, now that sounds like a good idea actually!  I'll get back to you once our new tracks are done.  Perhaps this idea could spread to others here.  Hmm...

Hey D3im0s, I wanted to buy Legno Liquido for my dad, yet I can't seem to figure out where it is available for purchase.  Is it ready for distribution yet?

It'll be ready soon, since we are placing the order for the first 1000 copies. I'll inform when it'll be available, now we are dealing with the last details of the graphics (barcode etc...) then we'll order the copies. Smiley

Ok finally we get the copies and can start selling. Just one thing, sending 1 CD via postal service seems to us too expensive and not a good idea, so we have a cdbaby account from which we are selling the album, probably this is the best choice Smiley

http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/SequoiaBisquits

However if you prefer not buying from cdbaby I can arrange to "manually" send you a copy.

Ok, a few things..

1) I listened to the ENTIRE album all the way through with no interruptions.  Simply magical.  I felt like I was in Disney World.

2) For those who haven't seen, check out the REALLY COOL promo video on the SB page!  http://www.myspace.com/sequoiabisquits

3) Because I like this music so much, it's inspired me to think about adding a new section to the site.  I'll have to think this through some more.  ;-)

I'm glad it arrived without scratches or other defects, and so i'm glad you liked it so much! It's almost a shame we can't get it sold outside Italy, 'cause our main selling solution is to sell it directly at the shows Sad

Now I'm waiting for the CP album to be finished Smiley

Yeah man, this is good original music.  I'm curious what you mean when you say that you "can't get it sold outside italy" ?

Definitely trying to finish up the CP stuff.  :-)

I mean that selling the album outside Italy, via CDBaby - iTunes - BandCamp - PayPal, it's very difficult. It's far easier to sell the album after a gig. We had a couple of sales and mp3-downloads via bandcamp, one sale via iTunes, and yours on CDBaby from outside Italy.
